What is the gospel? It is the heart of Scripture. It is the thunderous cry echoing from Genesis to Revelation: God and man united in Christ. That is the story. That is the promise. That is the point of it all.
From the first breath of creation to the last trumpet, everything is driving toward unity with God through His Son.
The eternal Word became flesh. The infinite stepped into the finite. God wrapped Himself in skin and walked among us. Why? Because the gulf between heaven and earth was too wide for anyone to cross. So heaven came down.
In Christ, the Creator joined Himself to creation. Fully God. Fully man. One person. One bridge. One Saviour.
And at the center of that saving work is the cross. Christ did not just die—He died for His people. For their sins. In their place. His death paid the price justice demanded. His blood cleanses their guilt stained consciences. By His wounds, they are healed. By His death, they are reconciled.
But the gospel does not stop at the cross. The tomb is empty. Christ is risen. And in His resurrection, God's people are made alive in Him. He is their resurection and their life. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave now breathes life into His people. They are new. They are His. And one day, even their very bodies will rise to share in His glory.
This is not theory. This is not distant doctrine. This is union. To be in Christ is to be united with the very life of God—His essence, His nature, His heart. Through Him, creation shares in the divine. Through Him, creation becomes His body, the Church. Scattered souls become one people, in covenant, serving one Lord.
Christ's people may say, Christ is with us; Christ is in us; Christ is our life. This is the gospel.
